The Gurkha Museum Luncheon Club 2012
The Curator of the Museum, Gerald Davies, asks if other Association Members would like to register to become members of The Gurkha Museum Luncheon Club. It will most likely to be of interest to those who live or work within a reasonable distance of Winchester. The Club is not part of the GBA, but draws on members of Associations within the Brigade.
The aim of the Club is to provide The Museum as a location where twice a year individuals can meet for a decent Gurkha Curry Luncheon on a Friday in March and September and to encourage members to become a Friend of the Gurkha Museum (£15 per annum). The Luncheon Club provides a venue for those across the Gurkha Brigade to get together with friends in convivial surroundings.
Gerald asks who would like to be registered as a member of the Luncheon Club. Those wishing to attend, not already members, should send the application form below to him not less than two weeks before that event. Luncheon attendance bookings by GM Lunch Club Members should be confirmed by email to Gerald at the Museum not less than four days prior to the luncheon date. A database of email addresses is kept to notify members with a calling notice 3 weeks before each event.
There is no membership fee, just a commitment to attend! At current prices the costs would be:
a. Museum booking fee £1.00 per person
b. Curry £16.50 per head
c. Drinks – Cash bar
The proposed dates for the two Curry Lunches during 2012 would be: Friday 16 March 2012 and Friday 21 September 2012.
Gerald looks forward to meeting new members in 2012.
